Front Room Tools

3D Printers

We have three Creality Ender 3 printers and one custom large format printer that has a 400mm^3 workspace. We print primarily PLA filament and allow our members to print for free. Fusion 360, various CAD and modeling software, and Cura slicer is setup on a PC for processing 3D models and preparing them for printing.

Laser Engraver

The K40 40 watt CO2 laser engraver has a workspace of 12 x 7 and can engrave wood, selected plastics and metals, glass and other materials. We have a list of materials that can and cannot be cut, which must be followed for everyone’s safety. There is an air assist system to clear smoke from the material, and a ventilation system to draw the fumes and smoke out of the space. Lightburn software controls the K40 and is attached to a laptop next to the engraver.

Vinyl Cutter

The US Cutter vinyl cutter has a working area width of 36″ and can cut decals, templates, and stencils, and the blade can be swapped out with a marker to plot over large areas. The software that controls the vinyl cutter is Sure Cuts A Lot. Members are expected to bring their own materials, but there are some extra materials that were donated.
